How’s it going guys, I need some help regarding my Center Support Driveshaft Bearing.

I’ll begin with this, I noticed a couple of days ago that the truck was making a humming noise whenever I accelerated from a complete stop, it only occurs between 0-20MPH. Previous to this happening, I was told by Toyota a couple of months back when I took my truck in for service that one of my U Joints was going to need replacing soon. I opted out because they were charging me an arm and a leg to replace it. I was finally able to get underneath the truck yesterday, I raised the rear end up and had a buddy of mine put it in drive and give it some gas to see if I could locate the issue. I noticed that the driveshaft would wobble slightly near the front closest to the transmission, that’s where the faulty U Joint is at. After placing it in neutral so that I could spin it freely I also noticed that the rubber bushing on the Support Bearing was torn.
The issue I’m having is locating the correct Support Bearing. I was intent on buying an OEM one but the price is too much and i also saw that there are some for 4WD and 2WD online so I don’t know if there’s a difference between them. So I’m looking for a not as costly option.

This is the OEM part # 37230-09080

I was also looking on purchasing one from rock auto which is the
    Anchor 6138.

thanks for your help and input.

If it gets to that point, I’d just get a solid drive shaft and be rid of the support bearing.

Since you are 2wd get that. Spicer is OEM, when mine went bad I went to a power train shop in town and got a Spicer. I do know the owners so got friends and family price. Best way is to see if the part #'s are the same if you have any questions.
More guys on here can give you more information about your questions than me.
But if you know they both need to be replaced then do a 1 and done.
    Good luck.

If the ujoint is bad it probably added to the carrier. I don’t mess with drive shaft. Not sure how much is too much but if you throw a driveshaft or egg it out. How much is that?

Thanks for the input guys, I really do appreciate it, your kind of right I could just get a solid drive shaft and call it a day but I’m looking at what $600+ for that. Or just replace the u joints and support bearing for half the cost and do it my self. I just use the truck for work and errands on the weekend hence being 2WD.

Shop your local driveline shops. I had all three u-joints and center support bearing (all Spicer) replaced and the balance checked (was very close and all that it required was moving one of the factory weights slightly) for just under $300.00. I did have to remove it and reinstall myself.
