I pulled my radio to be replaced and I am curios if the skinnier second unit is the navigation for the radio, and I did a quick search for toyota 86140-04210 and what I found shocked me... does this radio without the NAV portion (or whatever that is) really cost $5000 new??
    Thank you for your input.

I went ahead and replaced the stock HU with an Alpine iLX F509 (the stock HU is in perfect working condition, it is missing a key feature like a second USB data port), the F511 just looked a bit oversized and obnoxious (not for me) the F509 is awesome and I retained ALL stock functions with the Maestro RR, Thanks to the guys at Trail Grid PRO. The unit came prewired and all I had to do was plug in and play, hardest part of the install was running the couple of wires that were needed (mic and GPS) The Alpine was exactly what I was looking for, USB music with Apple carplay, it behooves me that some designer at Toyota/Pioneer decided to provide only one USB data port on the stock system, that's just cheap!

The reason for one media port is that you can have problem with CP or AA with more than one media port.

You do lose some of the Center cluster display information, like the nav stuff

what is CP or AA, and yep I really never looked at the compass in the middle cluster anyways, Alpine taps into ODBII which at least I can now see the battery voltage and more so IMHO I gained more then I lost.
CP CarPlay, AA Android Wireless... got it LOL

I now have wireless CarPlay and it connects flawlessly, I think issues with Apple Carplay is when Apple decides to update the IOs and hose the bluetooth connections, simple solution is do not auto update your phone, just like any device you update something that has not been fully tested then you risk getting hosed.

Also on a side note I had a 2014 Jeep grand cherokee with two data ports one dedicated fro CP AA and one for data, never had any issues with either and had the Jeep until last year when I traded it in for the 2021 Tacoma so... I still think Toyota is laggin in technology. But hey they will now release the super dupper 14 inch infotainment system in 2024, should have all the bells and whisles right? LOL

My Kenwood head unit does the same thing, very handy and informative. The truck started throwing the 420/430 codes, I haven't gotten around to tracking it down yet, probably because clearing them is as easy as changing the track

sounds like you more than likely need some new O2 sensors

    That's what I'm hoping for, it's an 06 w/ 140K.
