Extend CV Axles

Hello all,

I could get crucified for this but has anyone extended their own CV Axles? I was thinking about finally pulling the trigger on a LT kit but I cant get over the prices of these aftermarket extended axles. I am a pretty decent fabricator so I am trying to save some $$$. Is there anyway to sleeve stock axles to extend and beef them up?? The only thing that I can think of is that if you sleeve them that makes everything inside the boot a major weak point. I'm in socal so this thing is hardly in 4x4 anyway mostly just off roading with my dad and uncle and they both have relatively stock jeeps so our trails are easy to mild. Being from socal it is never in 4x4 on the road.

All that being said if anyone has a hook up on used +3.5 axles from a reputable brand let me know.

 

Use 1st Gen Tundra axles.

 

Do they need to be modified? Is there a forum on it?
