Well, I did it. I sold my '23 Maverick Lariat for an SR5 Double Cab w/5ft bed. I can already discern that the build quality is better and that the Taco seems more stout. I mean know this is a true truck platform and not a truck on a car chassis. The one thing I am noticing is that it seems like the most desired Tacomas are the TRD 4x4 trucks. Mine is only a 4x2 and I kinda feel like I am in the minority. Plus I really hate how Yota really skimps on the features at each trim level. Like I could get 4x4 but, I couldn't get with things I wanted unless I spent more money or stepped up to the next trim level - and I get that right? When I was shopping, I could get a 4x4 at the same price for what I got the SR5 but, it would be missing things that I wanted option wise. Ultimately, I had to get what was in my budget.
