The previous owners of my house put up lights on all the outside gables. I’ve never bothered to take them down amd opt instead to just unplug them after Christmas. There’s no HOA and they aren’t obtrusive so I see no reason to change. Someday I’ll buy one of those permanent Jellyfin systems, but this works for now.

No outdoor Xmas lights, stopped that when kids grew up. Xmas tree and indoor decor down when everyone goes home Xmas day evening or on boxing day.

Assuming you're talking about the last paragraph, that's not how I interpret it. Besides, I'm not Ukrainian Orthodox, though my grandmother is.

I can't believe you have the energy to take stuff down that early. I usually spend Boxing Day laying on the couch.

The correct date to remove Christmas lights from your house has been long preset and determined. You or I, not even TW can change it.

The correct day, is the day your wife tells you to take it down.

    Yes wife.

We used to take the lights down the day after Christmas but we have been waiting longer the past few years. Now they come down the first nice day I have off after new years. The lights make me smile so I don't mind seeing them a few days longer.

The blizzard took care of some of the outside decorations. Everything else, in and out, comes down Jan 1.

Last year my neighbor across the street left his lights on until Easter. I guess his 2 young sons were the motivation for doing that.

I was looking at pre lit Christmas tree's last night. I'd like to upgrade to a 9ft this year from the old 7.5ft. :santa:

True example of people who say "f'k em." Be thankful it's not pink flamingos, I could live with lazy Christmas decorations, but the pink flamingos would be used for target practice LOL

Tree has been up since 2016, but I turn its lights off after Epiphany.

Most people don't look up, so it goes unnoticed most of the year. I also don't have to worry about storage space.

That's got to be tough for him and his family. I still have the Christmas wreath on our front door and Christmas table setting out in the dining room. Probably change it over to Spring/Easter next weekend. :)
