What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Intercooler makes a significant difference.

 

It's actually a big part of me getting off the supercharger. Not being able to intercool it meant I was constantly fighting pinging and lack of efficiency at high altitude.

I did love the whine - I've had plenty of tarbos - so it was a fun "different".

 

Turbo all the tacos!

 

I want to be about that turbo taco life!!! Oh wait I live in Commifornia…

doesn't the new updated blower that's coming out have a air/water intercooler in it like the 2nd gen taco blower?

 

Nope

 

not enough room vertically in the engine bay to fit an intercooler into that blower

 

bummer. Thought they had teased that happening awhile back.

 

Yeah, they still left out maybe the most important part... Oh well charge should still be cooler now since it's a higher volume blower being wayyyy under driven

Nah i made them myself with a whole slew of parts from TRS

 

49ers themed hood stickers! Old gray ones we're cracking and ready to be replaced. Clay bar'd the hood before putting them on. Never used a clay bar before. Incredible. Feel's like new paint. Still need to razer blade the hood lines on the passenger side to make the stickers look crisp. Waiting for it to dry before doing that. Tomorrow prolly.

 

will be interesting to see how it does. But I was semi excited about it thinking it had an intercooler.

 

Stickers were dry and decided to go for it since I need the truck tomorrow. Cleeeeean!

 

And no smaller diameter drive pulleys for it yet.
