In 1982 Colgate came up with the weirdest brand extension idea. They decided to sell frozen dinners. This plan backfired, probably because consumers couldn't help but think that the Colgate food tasted just like their toothpaste. No company launches a product thinking that it will decrease sales of their other products, but Colgate should've seen it coming. Their toothpaste sales plummeted after the launch of the kitchen entrees line.

I actually learned to cook when I was a kid so I never had to eat that kind of stuff.

I was at the Rollertown in Visalia California with my wife and children when the idiot DJ switched off all the lights. 50+ people were going around the circle in pitch black darkness.

When the lights came back on suddenly, I found myself about ready to cream a little kid right in front of me. He had wandered in my path and the dark and stopped.

I did a pretty incredible flying wheels maneuver to avoid him, and I wrenched my knee so badly it is not normal 30 years later.

OK, it wasn’t that incredible. Basically I jumped straight up over the top of him. I came down on the other side, crashed and burned.

Ya I'm old enough to have done the roller rink thing, pop's also loved skating as good exercise and Sun. nites was old farts nite as we used to call it.

But Fri. was all the young shits as pops called it, boy did we have fun and there was usually a party somewhere after.

It was not really not being able to cook.

Times were rough in my youth.

Lots of squirrels ,rabbits and fish what ever I could shoot or catch. I never realized I spent so much time in the woods with the dog.

What was the purpose of cutting out pices of paper and gluing those pices of paper on another sheet of paper. I can't recall ever being in a situation where that was necessary.

How many of y'all had one of these on your dash? Any good stories, where it saved your butt, or didn't?
