Had a similar problem on my grandmothers old Liberty. They had the chrome capped lug nuts and one of them was a stubborn bugger. Tried a couple different times, but stopped before it got stupid. Local mom and pop place got it off for $5. I replaced those nuts with the solid ones...

This is what I was talking about. You'll need to make sure it has the size you're looking for before buying. I'd buy the size I need and one step down from it incase I need to use a force amplification tool to really seat it on the bolt then let 'er rip. Or use the spiral fluted type extractors. Isn't it true that some Jeeps use Lug bolts instead of lug nuts? Are you dealing with a nut or bolt?

The littler Jeeps use the bolts IIRC. You can blame FIAT for those disasters... Those shouldn't be chrome capped though.

I believe that it's just a regular bolt with the POS chrome cap removed.
    It is a bolt.

Once I have this problem child taken care of, all of the lugs are being replaced with one piece bolts, if she likes it or not!

Probably a rookie with a 12pt socket that was one size too big and rounded it off with the ugga dugga.

I have kobalt yard tools and I had already had ryobi stuff so I just kept buying into it. The system is huge. Now I've got their bluetooth radio and medium sized fan for camping which is awesome. The fan runs on battery or cord.
considering getting the Kobalt power adapter that turns the big chonking yard tool batteries into portable power supplies.

@Jtcmedic looks like Idalia will be going north of you but with it projected to be a Cat 3 now it might be a bit sporty for you. Good luck

One plus side to this tire issue, it looks like my first ever plug is holding. I aired the tire up to 36psi, checked it an hour later and it was 34. Another 2 hours later it was still at 34. This morning, 34.

A coworker is supposed to be bringing in an extractor and breaker bar so we'll see how that goes tonight.

So finished up a couple of small projects this weekend. One was a box so my wife can store her grocery bags in one place and the second one was making my railroad rail a bit more presentable to us as an anvil. I have a free anvil but it is so cheap I am afraid to hit it for fear of breaking it! It dents with the lightest of hits.
Anyway, here are a few pics.

I would like to get my hands on a chunk of rail sometime. There are some cool YouTube videos about them.

Yep, I have those, and these are the ones from autozone… various sizes available.

No-go on the extractor. I did pick up a sacrificial 17MM 6 sided socket (because I'll probably have to beat it on) to try and break all the others loose but I'd like to have the new one piece lug bolts in hand first.

Lol there are different gauges of rail, and mine weighs about 50 lb. There is all kinds of it out there but getting to it and more importantly, cutting it when you get there is the key. My friend had a 12 foot section and it was in the same place since we were kids. I visited him recently, drug the shop band saw out, strung together about 200' of extension cord and sat there, oiling and oiling.
Broke his only blade so took his torch tanks out to cut the last bit. Probably cost me 3 hours. To most, it's not worth it. To me, having something I can bang on with zero concerns is cool. And oh do they ring! It's like a bell haha.
