What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

New rims, tires, alignment.

 

Got my valve covers and intake cleaned up and painted.

 

It should be more efficient than the previous one so it'll be a little cooler but nothing like an intercooler.

 

There is a break in period but this sound like it might be excessive. Please reach out to us at the shop and let's get it figured out for you.

Anyone know if I can use starter fluid in place of brake cleaner or similar? I want to rinse out the underside of my valve covers prior to install just to remove any potential dust or shit that got in there while apart. I figure it is a solvent so should be OK? It takes me an hour round trip to get to autozone. Thoughts?

Yes, you'll be fine. I know professionals that use it instead of brake clean.

 

but… I just want to go fast…

Check out the shrapnel from my spark plug tube giving way and the spark plug getting destroyed

 

Installed the new tvs1320 supercharger and sent out the stock pulley to see what size smaller pulleys can be made.
Rotors are 30 percent bigger, 4 lobes and 160 degrees twist.

 

Good stuff in here today, I took the wife out to dinner and then up one of my favorite hill climbs to watch the moon for a while



First time boosting in 4lo, took it very easy and have no idea what the guage was saying because I was focused on the road and also didn't get pictures from up top


Always leaving the good camera at home.
I might have some half decent footage from the dash cam but ill get to that much later

Yeah only a few hundred more than the old one.

 

Seems to be some variation in what the old one cost. I recall it being $5k when I was looking. @Digiratus do you recall what the price was on yours?

 

The old on was 3500 new or there abouts.

The 5k figure comes from all the other shit you need to make it run actually decent.

 

I think it was marked "on Sale" ar URD for $3595. It was something like $1K more when you bundled their 7th kit with it.

Quite a bit more than that when you add in the haltech ecu, larger injectors, new fuel pump and ...

 

That makes sense.
