CV boot clamp saga continues... the band part number is:
Cv Joint Boot Band - Toyota 42345-04070

And its $10. So I had to order 2 to make the shipping worth it. Ugh.

Supposedly this style of tool is the special tool that Toyota techs use. Obviously without the dumb china name. Hope it works better than the double breaker bar method with the Lisle pliers

I fuckin hate buying specialty tools for one job. I used the lisle tools, did it the right way and the shit still failed. :(

We will see with this tool. Costs as much as the Lisle pliers, and its obviously an Amazon knockoff..

Saga is almost done. (Still want to buy 3 more reboot kits - 2 for the axles that are on the truck, 1 for the additional spare to the spare that I have)

Just waiting on my Amazon tool

Still went more. Put some antiseize on the threads of the tool as lubricant.

Heres a mid shot comparing to the one that was removed

And thats how you do it! (For the 3 people watching)

How to reboot an OEM CV Axle:
    1. Get a boot kit that has all the correct clamps
    2. It shouldn't take 2 weeks to do it all
    3. Amazon tool paid itself off with some antiseize lubricant. Multi purpose too with the inboard clamp.
    4. A bolt is stronger than me :anonymous:

When you did u joints, was it happening before doing them? Maybe one of the new joints is bad?
