I noticed that one of the bolts in my bed is showing signs of rust.
is there something I can put on to stop or slow down the process?

Wire brush out the existing rust. Paint with rust inhibitive paint or galvanize touch up.

That's just a bit of surface rust where the torx bit was used. It's purely cosmetic. If you want to go down a rabbit role of rust mitigation, look under your truck.

If you did want the rust removed, Naval Jelly rust remover does an awesome job and is always good to have around the garage - just wear gloves. It's very potent, so on something like this, "a dab will do ya".

Everyone’s bed bolts eventually develop a patina of rust. If you don’t want that to ever happen I suppose you could clean up what little rust there is with some evaporust and a brass brush, and then protect the bolt head with an application of fluid film brushed on. Hell you could event paint the head with clear nail polish. No judging but worrying about the bolt head probably isn’t worth it.

However these bolts do seize down the road, and maybe it’s worth removing each one by one to apply a light layer of grease to the threads and reinstall as a preventive measure.

If this is your worst problem today, congrats, you have an amazing life :)
