swearing on the bible is BS. If someone is not a believer in said bible, they would have no problem lying to it.

The issue here is far reaching. In Iran, religious police can enter your house unannounced (you cannot lock your front doors for this reason) to ensure you're following the rules of the state, which of course, is a theocracy.

Here in Democratic nations, the rules get a little fuzzy. Do i care if people worship how they see fit so long as it's not endangering anyone? Of course not, it's everyone's unalienable right to practice their religion.

However, when the lines get blurred in "religious expression" and "personal safety", it's a very hard call. Who am i to say someone can't wear a head covering? Well, i would be against it in a bank for instance (just like you can't wear halloween masks in a bank) as i may not be able to identify your christian/athesit/jewish/muslim face when you rob me. But i'm not against it in the churches and homes of these devout religious people. 99.9% of all the muslims i've ever met are peaceloving, good people, they certainly don't scare
    me.

What scares me is opening a door for someone to abuse their own, or as posing as a member of another religion, abusing the "rights" (head coverings, knives, etc) to inflict danger on my fellow humans, regardless of their color or religion.

Here they are allowing middle school children to carry there daggers in school. 12-14yo kids should not be allowed to carry a knife to school regardless of there religious beliefs. That is a safety concern for all who attend these schools. Here in Canada we are much more lenient to other religions and races, so much that we are forgiving our beliefs and way of life. Walk around many parts of Vancouver, and Caucasian's are the minority.

i agree that 12-14 year olds should not be allowed to carry knives to school.

What difference does it make if Caucasian's are a minority though?

Islamic Militants have declared war on the west. The only way they get away with this is because a majority of main stream muslins support their actions. So now were are supposed to accommodate their stupid religious beliefs in our courtrooms? I don’t think so. If you live in this country you play by our rules, otherwise get the f!@# out!

So a judge can't have the ten commandments in his court room but he has to respect other peoples religions? Give me a break. If you are going to enforce it it has to be on an equal/fair/even level.

For the purpose of the courts, it makes sense that she can't have her head covered..."Can you identify the criminal/victim/suspect?"..."uh, no, their head is covered"...sounds racist I guess, but it makes sense in my head. Plus the overall security threat of not being able to see who you allow into a Federal Bldg...especially in this day and age where everyone wants to take a cheap shot at the West.

something that bothers me......... somebody that wants to do harm will always exploit any system that is put in place.... (Hence metal detectors in court houses).

If i cant wear a motorcycle helmet into a courthouse which shows as much skin as a muslim headdress, we both should be forced to take them off. But WAIT!!!!!

IM WHITE AND SHE IS A MINORITY ILL BE FORCED TO TAKE MINE OFF AND SHE WONT BECAUSE IT MIGHT"""" OFFEND""" her!!!!! F*** That BULL S***

It's called REVERSE DESCRIMINATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still has that lovely "D" word which everybody tries to fix!!! Deal with policies and procedures and move the hell on!!!

    Sorry about the length :)
