Hi all. I can't figure this one out. I had some front end damage, still driveable but not alignable and this sound did not happen. Over the last 3 weeks I replaced LCA with new toyota OEM LCA. Replaced UCA with light racing adjustable LCA's. replaced steering rack because it was leeking (so had to remove lower intermediate shaft and replace, no issues during this process that I could tell.) And while I was there, since my shocks were toast, put in bilstein 6112's.
Now it is aligned, drives well, tracks well, but i get a loud external sounding clunk when going over bumps or making a sharp left turn. I have done video but it doesn't come through too well. If I jog the steering wheel back and forth hard while moving, as in video, I can recreate sound. This can not be reproduced while stationary or up on jacks, so I am having trouble pinpointing anything beyond I think it is the driver's side. I'm leaning toward steering shaft, but has anyone experienced anything like this. After such a big front suspension rebuild, I want this thing driving like buttah.

Doesn't sound like sway bar hitting coils... Would be looking at your rack possibly. Have a gopro you can stick under there while driving?

Did that with a fiber optic cam linked to phone. Can't see anything. One of my sway bar links is pretty shot. Going to remove the whole bar soon and see if that takes care of it. If not, I'll try to get some better video with sound.

That sway bar bushing could be a problem, but odd it wasn't there before.

Thanks again for the suggestions. It turned out to be a bad stabalizer bar link. I took the stabalizer bar off as part of the troubleshooting and the sound went away. Got two MOOG replacement links for $50 and put them on and put stabalizer bar back on and life is now good!

I tried to order these sway bar links from partsgeek. They must have messed up on the price being only $53 so they waited a week then canceled my order telling me its "not in stock" but they never fixed their website. Still says they are in stock. They lost a customer anyway
