This is a mod I did for my dog to have room but it actually works well for hauling an ice chest or even groceries. Quite a bit of storage underneath as well. I carry a 12 volt compressor, tool kit, tow strap and winch accessories underneath. End caps are held in place with magnetic catches. Maybe someone else might benefit from the idea.

My service dog would really appreciate the flat space to lay down. Do you have plans for this?

No plans, sorry. I just used cardboard as a template and when I was happy with the fit I cut it from plywood. I had to make a couple minor adjustments to get it just right and then ordered matching carpet and the magnetic catches online.
