I wouldn’t own it in auto.

    Reverse gearing is ass though.

Manual and do the 2low mod, R is way to tall especially if you do any type of towing. I had to order my 2018 and waited 4 months to get exactly what I wanted, definitely worth the wait.

Bought my '23 MT 5 months ago and couldn't be happier. It drives beautifully. Reverse is a bit tall; but that is my only complaint. I've read about people having issues with the accumulator. That said, my clutch feels fine, the grab point is consistent, and I have no issues with it at all. I have driven manuals my entire life - since I bought a used MGA in 1966 as a 15 year old. The Tacoma is a pleasure, though it is not a sports car so don't expect it to drive as such.

I had to drive 3 hours to get my 23 manual off road. Get a tundra if going with an automatic. I would never get an auto tacoma

For me, the difference between the AT and the MT is simple. The MT is just so much more fun to drive. When I get in it, my thoughts aren't as much where I have to go, but, I get to drive my truck today!

Go manual. I would have but the Mrs. occasionally drives the taco and hates manual. Next time I will get the stick.

Best of luck at the dealer. Usually a stressful time, but hopefully you can work something out.

I've always had MT cars since I first started driving (30+ years), but traded my last MT car in for my Tacoma with AT. A personal choice as traffic is pretty bad where I live and it will allow my wife to drive the truck, lol.

I’d prefer a manual personally, and used to only drive manuals…But, I also like drinking my coffee when I drop my son off at school.

Go with the manual so at least some of us can live vicariously. Good luck.

Yes there currently is 2 of them at my local dealer sitting inside the show room. They have been sitting for 6 weeks waiting for Toyota to tell them if they are subject to the recall or not (My sales guy says if they are a recall truck they will be taken back to Toyota.)

Dealer should be able to do the recall! Sounds like salesman bullshit to me. Send a vehicle back? Never have heard that before. With that being said, I love my 2023 LR MT even with a few QC issues it has.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Do the opposite of what I did, then. Drive over to the Nissan dealer and if there is anything (especially that rat bastard nobody wants) make a deal on it. I love the under dogs. Go Nissan! Fuck ‘em. Get the fuck out of there. Leave and don’t look back.

It is so irritating that they still try to do this and that they actually get away with it. $500 for nitrogen filled tires is highway robbery, and for something that eventually no longer going to have nitrogen in it over time unless you keep putting it in there. I don’t even know what the permaplate thing is but for $1000 it sounds like a scam.

It's simple, tell them to remove the bullshit or just walk.

Anybody know if anyone actually takes the time to try to replace air in tires with nitrogen. It sounds silly and time consuming. I just don’t see them actually doing this.

I'm sure for a dealership it's simple, just lift the vehicle and remove all the valve stem cores to let all air out, install cores and hook up machine. Never used a nitrogen machine but would imagine you set a specific pressure and it automatically inflates to that amount.

Nowadays they don't mind this. There's already another fool in line that doesn't know any better that will gladly pay for all that bullshit...

Sad as it is, these trucks with the MT are hard to come by. If you like it you're probably better off to take the hit and get it. It hurts just to say that, but it's true. At any other time I'd tell them to suck eggs.
