    Workin' on it ;)
TIFU by accidentally drilling and nicking two important wires in the main wiring harness on my 04 Tacoma driver side in engine bay. Long story short I was installing rock lights and I was drilling holes into my wheel well and I was on the passenger side and without looking what was right above I drilled and heard a spark followed with a tiny plume of smoke. After realizing I drilled thru my wiring harness I immediately disconnected my battery. I pulled back the plastic casing and saw I nicked two wires… one that goes to AM2 (30A fuse to it was also blown) this one has to do something with ignition? And the AC/Heater wire but the 10A fuse was intact.

My first thought was to simply wrap it in elec tape and move on but then I realized what if both wires short down the line? The drill only removed the insulation barley touched the copper.

Should I just tape it get a new fuse and call it a day? Or should I splice or trace wire and replace entirely?

Pictures of the nicked wire would help. If it is only a small nick then insulate and move on. If too many strands are cut then consider a bit of solder on the spot so you don’t compromise the wire with two splices. Too much damage and you need to splice or solder in a new piece.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
Inspect just how much wire was damaged .

Worse case after insulating and separating the wires see if all the circuits work.

If not back to trouble shooting to see what you missed.

Having the Schematics for your year Truck is a great help.

    Best of Luck!!
