I hope you're planning to stay the whole week for as long as that drive is. Have you thought about moving closer to the villa?

It's 50+, once admitted you don't get kicked out for gaining seniority.

Welcome to the best thread on TW and welcome back from the dark side. Go team mustard! You're and improvement over your father, but you're still over cooking your meat...:boink: You should try taking the steak off the grill a little sooner, like @115°-120°.

You could have a wet tee-shirt contest with the m00ses.:rolleyes:o_O:p

I've used the oven before, but I'm usually not making enough for the oven to be worth it. So used the ole frying pan. But then I got an Air Fryer a few years ago. That has become my go to bacon maker!

We are close to ready to load the boy up and head to Davidson river tomorrow for a few days. I was hoping for some cooler weather but still a little early yet. I called myself taking September off but it’s turning out to be busy in a good way. As soon as we get back we are going to pack up the wife’s truck and head west to somewhere around pine top lake az to drop off the puppy. And then we ramble all that is etched in stone so far is two nights at the north rim campground we were able to get a second night in case we want to stay longer. I’ve just got to be back at the end of the month to do a transport up north where a fishing trip is going to break out.

Not sure of the elevation there but it's probably cooler than here. I've not ventured north very far but my son said some of those touristy areas can be costly but I really don't know.

    Edit: 8000', take a hoodie...

Evening gents. Came back from the lake early to avoid the insane traffic of tomorrow… and get away from the nuts on the lake today; boats everywhere! Trailers lined up on both sides of RT25, since the parking lot for the boat ramp was full…and there’s ‘no parking’ on the state road, yeah, sure. Can’t wait for next weekend when they’re all gone!

    ...makes me wanna go...

I need to start scouting and searching some of this stuff. I already have a place in Idaho to go for a couple weeks per year, just need to fill in some more time slots.

store fronts in 'old town' Harpers Ferry. Notice the church steeple in the background

Back road to get to the Jefferson Rock

It was a good day trip, I got into the Nat'l park for free with my veterans pass and took the shuttle into town, there is NO parking in Harpers Ferry. The heat got to me after a few hours, I forgot to get a pic of John Browns "fort", which was actually the fire Dep't building where the armory stored finished rifles awaiting shipment.
