    I was just curious and this might sound stupid cause I don't really know what to ask..... But... Can I have a 2004 four door, trd Tacoma body put on a 2001 Tundra frame? Did I say that right?

    A dude with a full sized Chev truck bed on an old Ford Ranger blew by me a few weeks ago, so anything is possible. The Tundy body is toast?

    Yes, it's toast. It runs awesome but the body is super messed up. Guess it was rolled a few times.

    I was going to have someone else do the swap but I don't want to sound stupid if it's a dumb idea, lol

    You might be on to something, missyeee. That could solve alot of problems, maybe. Get a v8, big brakes…. Edit: Jesus, I’m liking that idea but keep in mind… I’m just a fool on the internet. That could be cool as shit. I bet you’ll have to trim the wheel openings to fit the meats but that’s nothing a bottle of vodka and a sawzall won’t fix.

    Do I need to measure it? And what do I measure? How long it is? Or wide?

    Because I have the tundra already. I was just curious if it would work. I'm in Washington state

    An experienced Fabricator would love a project like this. I know I would .:thumbsup:

    If it has never been done it would be a build as you go project.

    If your paying normal Shop Labor which seems so inflated these days It could make this no longer cost effective.:annoyed::spending:

    Even with the Tundra Frame in hand Importing a used Tacoma frame from California or sourcing a local frame might be much cheaper.

    I wish I was closer !! I love this idea.:thumbsup::welder::oldglory:

    Given enough time and money anything is possible. I've seen all sorts of bodies on truck/SUV frames. That used to be fairly common. I've seen Mustang bodies on Bronco frames. A 1980's Impala on a Chevy Blazer frame. I haven't seen him drive it in years, but there is a 1957 Chevy body on a 4X4 truck frame here in town.

    Take some pics of the worst parts of the body on the Tundra, if you can.

    No matter what you decide I would love to hear how this plays out.

    Is the Tundra Drive train in Good Shape??

    So much less work if the drive train also does not need to be swapped from the Tacoma to the Tundra .

    Yes I laid in bed thinking about this several hours .

    Best :welder::oldglory:of Luck!!
