Thanks! Too late, I've already got it stripped and sanded to 180. I removed all the hardware and used 0000 steel wool to "clean" it a bit. I have a few other chests like this one, and a couple that are larger. This was my "Guinea pig."

Did not build these, but I hung some Home Depot cabinets in the garage today. Attempting a garage reorganization project. This was the first step.

My advice for refinishing rocking chairs, paint them! 2 coats of urethane on this one, needs a light sanding then the third coat. Only 3 more chairs to go…. That wood grain showing though, makes me happy instead of covering it up with paint.

So, think I'll need to buy a router if I want to get a radius cut on that wood? May just need to buy a single tool versus using a file and sand paper to get the bulk of it down...

Just create a small radius on each corner of those wood blocks you're sending.

Need to round the edges so I don't stab myself.

Just check them out, i took the sharp edge off. If you need more than that, then a small palm router with 1/8" roundover bit would do

Yeah that's what I meant, as in what tool would be acceptable without doing too much work but also not being overkill.

I have a Milwaukee Fuel circular saw that I've used for one day, and it's never been used again since :bananadead:

Will say it cut super fast and clean with the Diablo blade I put on it.

Yeah I’m a fan of stained wood vs painted, I guess I sanded too much on these to show her the wood grain. Lesson learned.

This is a metal+wood collaboration project

I'm no wood worker so this will have minimal relevance to the thread; I find metal work 100 times easier

The wood you hooked it up with is freaking nice; I'm hoping you like the sign just as much

What kind of wood is it anyway? It took the stain really well
