    We did Rowher trail to Sierra Pelona Rd and took Sierra Pelona down to Bouquet. It seemed more spicey after the rain.

    Some snaps from this weekend exploring the old Barlow road near Mt Hood. It was the first road built over the Cascades and is part of the Oregon trail. Most of the road still follows the original wagon route. Bumpy as all hell too

    Simple 5 day quick trip to the Sandhills and the world's largest hand planted forest of my home state here in NE.
    The Honey Locust trees were huge (gigantic spikes all over the trunk and branches) but the sand burr plants were not quite as prevalent, so hiking around was possible if you look exactly where you were stepping

    If you are in northern Arizona on I-40 between winslow and holbrook stop at the Jackrabbit trading post
    ( mile marker 269 ) and take a picture riding the rabbit and they have neat signs

    Better yet, stop for some photos @ the Wig Wam Motel in Holbrook.

    Truthfully though, there’s nothing much to see between Gallup and Flagstaff. It’s nearly all flat prairie nothing with some small Southwestern sprinklings along the way. Might as well be driving through North Dakota.
