I am over 100k and I know I am probably due to change the spark plugs but do I ? Truck runs great, and any recommendations on other than Toyota sparkplugs brands?

    Appreciate the advice!

Supposed to be every 60. Mine ran great too, but I changed them anyway. Spark plugs arent an item that you wait for wear-out.

I went with the Denso plugs that were specified in the owners manual. I also had to walk to the store because my socket extension wasn't big enough. You will want at least a 12-inch extension.

I plan on changing earlier than 100k
I always use Denso or NGK in Toyota

I have changed mine 4 times on my 2019 - I have had the dealer do all my service - I'm just under 250K trouble free miles - many in 4WD.

100k replacement on previous 3rd gen’s. It did not perform any better or use less fuel after the plug replacement. Idle “may” have been slightly better. $235 at the dealer.

A reminder to those who might not know...Be careful buying plugs (or many OE maintenance items) from Amazon/Ebay, etc. Lots of clone fraud, esp if they are 'cheap' prices. I buy mine at Napa or the dealer.

With modern computer controlled ignition, spark plugs might come close to being considered a life of the engine item. They just don't seem to wear out like they use to with the old manual distributor ignition system. Don't get me wrong; please follow your prescribed maintenance schedule for your plugs! But don't sweat it if you are a few (or many) thousands of miles past the 60K mark!

I feel every 75k is a good time to change them. Agree with MannyS, it won't change the gas mileage, but mine runs a bit smoother. It took me 1.5 hours, takin' my time, and listening to music. I saved 250$, which is good.

By the way---- thats the hard way to do it, the plenum removal isn't required. just remove a bracket or two and get the plug from the wheel well.
there's videos out there to show how.

you are overdue. whether you do it yourself or have someone else do it, change the plugs and use OE.

Iridium plugs are good to 100k
Denso are the plug of choice
Don't try to change the gap, the tips are delicate

From my experience with spark plugs, I recommend to always use either oem(in this case that is Denso) or NGK plugs.

Rockauto is a good source for cheaper yet quality parts if you don't need it immediately. Never use the economy line parts though when you have a choice. Daily driver minimum

If your Toyota spark plugs lasted 100t miles with no issues, why even ask for non OEM brand .:confused::confused:

I plan to change at 60K because of concerns with plugs seizing and becoming difficult to remove, versus concern with plugs wearing out.
