They numbed my eye, removed something and told me to take the rest of the day off. The numbness wore off and there is still something in there. I’m back at urgent care

He said he got everything out. I’ll see if it feels better in a couple hours

 

Had a small metal piece go into my eye when I was doing overhead electrical work at my buddies place in Vt. years ago.
They flushed it out next day and said it put a small scratch in my cornea.

 

Probably scratched the eye… sorry man, take it easy and keep us posted

 

Well that sounds fucking awful

 

I've had metal fragments scratch my cornea a number of times when grinding. Had to get medical attention to remove the slivers. Yeah, they give you numb numb drops...clean out the eye, put some ointment, and cover it with a patch for a week, and your good as new. No biggie.

 

Came home, took a nap. Eye still feels as though there's something in it. He said it should be better by now. I put in the prescribed eye drops.

He said I scratched my cornea but the pain is in the corner of my eye. I think he found something but not all of it. I'm going back there first thing tomorrow if it's not better by then.

This is the third time I got something in my eye, two times I was wearing safety glasses.

The second time they flipped my upper eye lid to remove something. The first time they had to use a syringe to remove a piece of metal that was embedded in my eye.

I'll be wearing safety glasses even more now. I have some better fitting ones in the truck that I'll use for work. I'll but pair to replace those.

 

Not be an alarmist, but be careful with the eyes. You really don’t want an infection in there. If you think there’s still something in there I’d go to the ER and not wait until tomorrow. My $.02.

Eye is feeling much better after a good night sleep. Still slightly sore, hopefully that will improve as the day goes on.
It still feels like there is something in it, but it's not as bad.
