Cat protection

I'm just planning ahead and want to ask what cat protection do you use on your Taco and why you chose it instead of others ? Thank you

All kidding aside, this would be a perfect solution with an auto deploy mode

To answer your question, I did the Millercat aluminum shield because of options and pricing at that point in time. Would probably buy the same again. Cali Raised had some fitment issues that were a headache for some; those issues may have been resolved.

 

That looks like mouse damage, had to replace 2 plow wiring harnesses cause of those fuckers, lined my plow frame with copper scrub pads now they leave it alone

I went with the Cali Raised Cat Shields. Pretty simple install.

 

Good to know I may do that too.

 

Stainless Miller cat shield. Making an assumption that the stainless is tougher to cut than aluminum. Install was easy and access to oil drain and filter remain intact.

The copper scrub pads are like razor wire to mice, my plow frame is full of them. Also stuffed any entry points with them on my yard truck so it doesn't get infested

 

as of this date:

Cheap: Cali Raised (3rd gen V6 AT only)
Mid: Talon or Miller
Expensive: RSI Skid with Cat addon (may be others I don't know about)

 

Yes I am familiar with Millercat, I have one on my 4Runner. But I had a bad experience with them that is why I am trying to see if there are better options. I have the stainless version which does not weigh much, and I assume it will be more difficult to saw it off than the aluminum versio .

 

Remember you are delaying thieves, not stopping them entirely. But most tweakers do not carry torches and tool-kits when trying to steal catalytic converters.

I have the RCI transmission plate with cat-wings ... not that I can fully justify the transmission plate but I can still pay my bills every month.

 

The aluminum Millercat was cheaper but turned out to be a bit flexy for my taste. It has held up fine for a year or two now, so I don’t regret it, but I initially wondered if I should have gone stainless.

 

Bad experience? As in cats still taken ?

 

I have a Miller Cat shield on my taco and my wife’s Prius, no problems whatsoever.
