Doing u-joints/carrier bearing w/ hand tools that i only have accessible.. so i may have hammered this washer/cuff thing at the base of where the carrier bearing was seated.. should this have come off?? and/or should i even consider reusing it as it is now loose?? and partly “out of sphere” or whatever lol.. but seriously.. no dealer near me, and all the box auto stores don’t seem to even want to know what i’m talking about.. so hopefully my first post after being a long time reader snd short time member here is an okay one.. cuz idk wtf and i just want this put back safely. so i definitely trust the feedback i see here in this community. thank you in advance for any thoughts or advice..
not a DIY’r or mechanic.. just broke and been figuring things like this out for too long now on my own.

    okay, phwewwww..
was hoping it was something like that.. but i do have 231+ miles so i wasn’t sure. thank you for clearing that up. ha.
will definitely be using some locktite.. i’d imagine this dust shield also helps keep out mid-western road salt. thanks again!!
