Well Nimrod had to total my 2015 TRD Off Road about 3 months after I finally got a new head unit and kicker CSS694 component speakers (installed with the ********* adapter) in. Now I’m in process of getting a gen 3. What do I need to know about moving the speakers (no cutting panels) to a 2019-2022? From what I can see the wiring is very different.

it really depends on if the new truck will have the jbl system or not. if it does, none of that gear will work. if it doesn't, all of it should swap in, as there weren't any major changes audio-wise

Ok, I'm confused. On 2nd Gens, the signal is normally sent to the tweeter then routed to the front door midrange. The taco tunes adapter is used to route signal to the crossover and the tweeter and midrange signals are then frequency split and sent to the appropriate component speakers both in the same door. With the tweeter in the dash I'd have assumed that the wiring was significantly different. I'm still not sure how to make it work........

You can bypass all that jumper from tweeter to midrange with the red wolf tweeter adapter. That’s what I’m using and then you can put in any tweeter you want and doesn’t have to be components.

the 3rd gens are wired the exact same way, except the tweeters are now in the dash. the radio feeds into a 4-conductor plug on the tweeters. 2 are input, 2 are output to the door woofers.
