can you list the model numbers of the parts that the person was supposed to install? i see lots of pieces, it appears to be at a minimum a radio, and an amp with a bass controller?

you said a pioneer radio was already installed in the truck?

Did you pay someone to butcher the electrical or did they butcher it and then say “no charge!”? If you paid them then I would at minimum ask for a refund, possibly take them to small claims court. If it was a friend that got in over his/her head and butchered it, then it may be up to you to fix. Unfortunately, will likely cost you more time and cost more money than if you just had the radio professionally installed to begin with.

Sorry you are going through this, wish I could help with technical details but I’m relatively clueless about electrical.

Well, at least that narrows it down to the area of your problems. I would completely remove the stereo and put everything back the way it was, kinda difficult since you didn’t do the work. Did you check ALL your fuses? There are some under the hood too

Sheesh what ugly wiring. Feel bad for ya. It's important to find people that are highly recommended for work. Things like this are unlikely to happen with a reputable installer/technician.

Since I don't have the tool to check it I replaced them , believe they were 3 including the ones under the bass controller

That looks like a video bypass module so that the headunit can play videos while in gear. It's not really necessary. I noticed you said you replaced the fuses because you didn't have a tool to check them? If you pull the fuse out, you can visually inspect them because they have clear plastic with a fuse link between the posts.

I would definitely check all your fuses. There is a fuse box where the coin tray is. You'll see it below the knobs that got mounted for the subwoofer, under the mirror control. Pull that tray out and you will see a panel of fuses. You can use needle nose pliers to pull them out. Pull each one at a time, check, and place back in before pulling the next one. A flashlight can help you. If you shine a light through the fuse, you can see if it's been broken. The other fuse box is in the engine bay. Plenty of google pics to show you where to find it, but it's on the right side next to the fender if you are standing in front of the truck looking at the engine.
Here's an example. This may not be the type of fuse your truck has, but it's the same principle.

I don't have tech stream so I cannot link you an electrical diagram but if you break it down like this, the task will seem less daunting....
    • Your blinkers, and AC compressor, and whatever else that isn't working require electrical signals to work properly (sorry if this is too basic, not trying to insult your intelligence)
    • The circuits will connect to your vehicle's 12V DC power (battery) and most likely a relay -- that relay is looking for a signal from you, or the ECU, or any other control like the AC button to latch which then powers the blinker, AC compressor, etc. That is how the circuit knows to turn on so it becomes a matter of making sure your circuit has power, and is receiving the signal to turn on at the appropriate time. Example: your blinkers need an input signal from the stick on your column -- you never messed with the turn signal lever so I would start further downstream.... check the fuse protecting the circuit after removing that rat's nest of stereo shit then check the relay. If the fuse and the relay check out then you need to check the wires between your column and the relay and the fuse and your blinkers.
      • Do the above for anything not working -- maybe someone with techstream can post the schematics for the AC and Turn signals
      • Dude that wired those things most likely shorted a circuit which blew a fuse or fucked with the grounds so you want to check all fuses DO NOT REPLACE WITH HIGHER AMP FUSES if you find that circuits continue to blow fuses. Doing so could fry the components the fuse is there to protect.
=> Can one of you bubbas with experience on a 2005 Taco link some schematics and walk OP through which fuses (and where to check)?

Also, I would suggest posting in the CA subforum to see if any experienced members could help out.

Did the shop/person disconnnet the battery during the installation. Looks like you have a bunch of blown fuses or relays.get yourself a multi meterr or test light and go through all of them. Muti meter would be best.test for current and ohm .

A fuse can look good, but can still be bad. They need tested.
