Hi folks, I was taking my soft cover off this morning and I was wondering what the wire cables and little knob are for near the front clamp? There doesn't seem to be a reason for them. Cheers

It's to keep the cover from flying off the truck when you have in the open, and folded back position while driving the truck.

Thanks but isn't that what the front clamps and plastic buckles do?

Just an additional safety measure...it would suck if that thing flew off on the highway!

The straps and buckles aren't secured to the truck bed, they only hold the cover to itself. The safety cables are attached to the bed, and the frame of the cover.

Chew and zoo truck like this.
