Oh shit i think i actually do from turn gen though. Took it off for my prinsu/caliraised/Amazon rack whatever i have.

They're relatively cheap if you can find them. Let me look later and see if I still have mine - let me know if turd gen will fit. Double cab.

so the third gen ones are a 2 piece vs a 1 piece. i dunno if that matters though since i'll be cutting it up anyway? if nothing else maybe i'd take your back 2 pieces that go down to the rear windshield just for some protection until i find some

Those are still on the truck. Do you have an access cab though? I'll measure the length if I have then still.

It's 2 parts? Mine was only one long ass part. Unless you are counting the part that goes down to the back window.

We're down in Texas and I have a rental Corolla. It's a, well, a Corolla. It has some of the things like radar controlled cruise, Lane Assist, and most importantly the wireless Android Auto app. I downloaded that onto my Samsung and it works great. Took a bit of getting used to, but now I'm spoiled.

I think I'm going to have to go to Crutchfield and see what options they have for Tacoma compatible stereos with Android Auto. Then I have to see steering wheel controls I'll lose if I don't get the adapter so that they work with the aftermarket stereo. Or maybe there's a new Toyota radio that will work if I can find one used.

I have a wireless adapter, eats battery like nobody's business but if it's <1hr then it's usually fine. Uses less if it's not using sat nav too.

Thanks. After some experience with the wireless Android Auto and looking at prices and options on Crutchfield, a wired option will work fine. I noticed that if I kept the phone plugged in to a charge only port and used wireless the phone got hot and I'd get a warning message that the phone needed to cool down. The rental only has USB-C to USB-C so I had to buy a cable to try wired. The phone seems to run cooler and I've lost no functions with the cable, so I think that's the option I'll go with.

All of the radios Crutchfield has require an adapter, sometimes two, to retain the steering wheel controls and the ability to change options via the radio. Assuming that the wiring harness is the same (dangerous with Toyota these days) a newer OEM radio might be the best option.

    More research is in order.
