Absolutely an issue! And I find it challenging too.
It's one of those "what would you do" scenarios that can't quite be answered until the situation presents itself and you are there.

I think one of the unspoken rules that may keep you safe(er) is to always keep that muzzle down unless you are shooting. In the vids I see from Active Shooters they are usually have a level barrel with the horizon and swing and point wildly around. Don't do that. In other words don't act crazy and you might not get mistaken for crazy. Also make sure you got witnesses.

But then again, it's a risk.

Most LEOs are trained to try to disarm and take custody first and shoot second. If you find yourself in that situation hopefully they will follow that model and you'll have the opportunity to surrender and straiten out who's a good guy and who's a bad guy before you get shot. But that is certainly a risk you take if you choose to engage in a firefight.

My first attempted home invasion the POS was disarmed by myself and we waited for the Sheriff, My second attempted home invasion the POS was disarmed by a K9 as he fled my front porch. I said screw this and moved before my luck ran out and I had a third attempt. You can have a general plan but not a specific plan because every situation will be different depending on the POS that is causing you a problem. Stay safe everyone

Yeah it looks a little absurd at first but I shoot long range silhouette out to 200 meters with it and I wouldn't want much less.

One thing that always stuck with me from a guy who gave a bit of a seminar at a self defense class....if you are in any situation, like you said keep the gun in a "ready" position and not muzzle flashing everything.

And also, and he emphasized this a lot, if you do encounter police...when they say stop/don't move/whatever, DONT MOVE. Freeze. Wait for the next command. Pretty much comes down to everyone's adrenaline is rushing. It's natural to turn towards someone who speaks towards you. But with a gun...the cop could mistake it as hostile and shoot.

Which after watching some videos of police shootings....happens a lot. Cop yells stop (or similar) and person turns towards cop with gun up....cop shoots. I don't blame the officer as they dont know

yeah ones i started running my sr-15 i cant go back from full ambi lol. being able to drop the bolt with your trigger finger in a position is so convenient. Yeah surprisingly the image looked a touch better in the minox over my Zco. Still i was blown away with the CNVD-LR, crazy how clear it is. Oh, and it only moved my point of aim .1 up when i tested it on both optics, so that was a great surprise with almost 0 shift

I'll be honest, it's a lot. Sometimes I wish I had gotten standard. This shreds my hands and my shirts

Do any of y'all use Excel to store Chronograph data?
I'm sifting through this data I collected today, 3 different barrel lenghts, a few different configurations for muzzle, and several types of ammo, I would like to list it where it is easy to compare data between barrel lengths with same ammo, different muzzle devices with the same ammo and barrel length. I started to lay it out like this but I don't think it's the easiest to read.
