Welcome to TW Chris! I love the red Comas. There are almost endless mods for these trucks. Just need to be ready for the empty wallet once you start.
As for me, My first go to are lift, tires and wheels. Just depends on what you plan on doing with the truck.

    Welcome to Tacoma World!

Myself I look to the areas of Neglected Maintenance First.

    Working from the ground up.

Always Good to know Mileage ,Engine and Transmission .

Then the major issues the Frame , Lower Ball joints .

Timing Belt if you have the 3.4

These are very reliable trucks in stock form. I'd work with getting all the regular maintenance up to speed if no records exist.
    1. All Fluid changes and new spark plugs and wires.
    2. check the front and rear brakes, new brake fluid.
    3. Upper and Lower Ball joints and go with Genuine Toyota if you love your new truck
    4. Better Tires, some recovery gear, and maybe a winch.
5.Flush the power steering and make sure you use the correct fluid. Some years use Transmission Fluid
    6. New Shocks and coil springs maybe new rear leaf springs, The sky is the limit, or should I say your "Wallet"
    7. this one should be 1st on the list, check the frame with a hammer from front to rear, everywhere looking for weak places.
