Up here in Maine they are sticking a lot of these arrays in the unused area in the middle of exit exchanges getting off from I95.

Terrible , family farm land being sold to the highest bidder as the death of the farm continues. One of most favorite drives now has them through the center, looks like sad broken land

That seems like a better idea than gobbling up farmland.

First off @wilcam47 is right, green energy is anything but green.

Down here the popular thing is to put them all over the roof of your house. They make the houses ugly IMO and detract from the “niceness” of a neighborhood.

We have one big solar farm on a decommissioned outlying navy airfield, it’s an eyesore but it’s in an industrial area so not too bad overall. I wouldn’t want one in farm fields near me and I definitely wouldn’t want any woods clear cut just to put one up.

I think it’s going to be interesting to see what happens when the next major hurricane comes through here too. It seems like that’s a lot of extra wind load and lift on a house roof since they are mounted about 6” above the shingles.

I have less issue with putting the panels on roofs.
Probably as the designs mature they will become less noticeable too.
I even noticed panels on a tiny 1 horse town AGWAY store today.

We don't have many industrial areas here -- lots of farmland though. In that photo I was on the opposite side of a rural valley probably a 1/2 mile away from the solar complex.

They’re an eyesore of epic proportions.

They’re making leaps and jumps in technology so these huge panels will be obsolete in a couple of decades.

Solar and wind should be integrated into a property, not some massive stand alone in a field.

On a similar note, we have those massive windmills popping up in the mountains up here. It’s a shock when you first see them.

    Good morning everyone :hattip:

Not to say the major problem I have is the reflection ofthe sunlight starring our eyes during the day from the solar panels, making us have to wear sunglasses indoors just to ease off the brightness of this sun rays. My neighbor might not even care about or not aware of the health hazard that their solarium is causing to others. :annoyed:

Fire Up the air compressor & give the condenser a blow. Might as well hit the fan too. Chances are it’s just dirt.

Remains to be seen I bought the tires and wheels the rest came along
All I can say it seems so many Belong to the " Not in my view" crowd.

If having a Solar Farm or Wind Mill Farm when all the gross numbers are totaled In the end it Pays much better then farming . I say go for it.

To me much better then a new High density Housing Project.

Just like the technology has been around as long as I remember to generate Electricity with wave action.

Another Not in my view issue.

    The rest of the story!!

The farm where I grew up in the sixties is gone the house still remains every thing else is gone.

Surrounded by houses that all look the same but for the different colored siding.

Solar Panels would look better to me .
