Was able to build some brackets off of some ebay seat jackers and fit a 4” tall safe under the driver’s seat. Simplex lock for simplicity.

Is it bolted in elsewhere? Seems like someone could just unscrew the Allen bolts.

I bet like a piece of automotive black carpeting could be cut to size and used to cover over it like a Velcro flap. Out of site out of mind. Or tamper resistant bolts.

if someone's going through that much trouble, it means that a, they've already gained access to the vehicle, and b, have tools.

given the average intelligence and forethought that most criminals have, and general lack of ability to operate more than a hammer a flathead screwdriver, if someone goes to that length to take whatever you've got, it's already gone. a set of 'tamper resistant' bolts won't do any better...

but i fully support the black carpeting idea-- the best security is obscurity.

I understand where you are coming from but at the root of this same point is “well why bother with a safe?”.

Yeah i think the Velcro cover would be legit. Many luxury vehicles that have all sorts of OEM electronics under the seat are setup that way so it might look more OEM and be left alone.
