Timing Belt Replacement - Maintenance Item?

2017 SR5 V6 approaching 110,000 miles. Should I replace timing Belt as a maintenance item? Currently functions fine.

 

no belt homie. Timing chain.

 

I’d do the serpentine belt around 100k even if there haven’t been any signs of it getting old.
Cracking, fraying, squeaking, etc..

 

Seems like lots of folks on here are extremely proud of their 8 yr old batteries and sparkplugs with 330k miles on them.

I say be cool and wait another 250k miles for that accessories belt..You'll save $50 today LOL

 

I'm talking about the belt that spins the alternator, AC compressor, water pump, etc.

Toyota calls it an "Main Accessory Drive Belt" I've always know it as an Serpentine belt.

 

Every Tacoma after 2004 has a timing chain. Here is a good reference chart

Just change it. No point waiting for it to break. If you are like me and do frequent remote solo trips it is one less thing to worry about when far from any help or cell service.

Normally I do that work myself, but the dealer charged me all of $80 to do it. A no brainer considering for the past 4 days I cannot even tie my own shoes or get my socks on or get in the truck. Lower back outage #101 in the past 30 years. This is why I got married. Shoe tying skills…

Once the back heals, out to the woods I go. Admiring that shiny belt.

 

You should change it at/or by 100k or 7 years.

Go to the dealer in your truck, show them the belt you want to replace and let them grab you the correct part. It will save you the pain of returning the wrong belt and not having a running truck.

New apple iphone 15 comes to mind . I read that it has satellite call feature to AAA and 911 service . I need one lol .
