good bass for double cab?

wanting to put maybe a 12" JL but probably a 10" in my double cab, im definitely looking for a good bass system but nothing ridiculous, ive talked to the local car audio store and they said the stealth box isnt that great for our trucks but i could have a custom box built for like 250ish, what are your suggestions?

 

How much are you willing to spend on the whole system? That includes Sub, Amp, Box, Wires.

 

And are you comfortable building a box yourself?

give us an idea of what you consider "Good Bass"?

 

not building my own box haha, and im a bass head so i like a lot of bass, but a modest amount, i dont want the cab rattling, but i definitely want to feel it in my chest
edit: im willing to throw down roughly 500-700 MAX

 

Are you going to install the amp and run wires by yourself, or is that all going to the shop?

If it is, that budget will be blown away, especially if your shop charges extra to install gear you buy elsewhere.

If you trust the shop, and are not willing to tear into it yourself, just go to the shop, tell them you got $XXX to spend, and that you wanna bump. They will get you hooked up. I doubt you will be running JL stuff, but I am sure there is something they have that will work for you.

If you are willing to do the install, you can save a lot of expense on the install, and get better gear.

Are you comfortable with installing it after they get you the box?

And really, dont spend that much - get a basic Taco Tunes or various other brand premade box and save some cash.'
