Can confirm it is not fun. There are ways to cool the air coming into the suit but it's never gonna feel great. I only ever wore the suit inside a "clean room" environment so I got a little spoiled there. Didn't take me long to realize I didn't want to do it regularly. There's about two companies I would consider jumping back in the suit for and Northrup(pictured) aint one of em...

Speaking of, anybody seen My_name_is_Rahl lately?

I can't ever recall changing a brake hose, especially for maintenance. :anonymous: If that's what the problem is, we'll know pretty soon.

So we dropped the insurance on the Pilot after we sold it and since my kid was set up as the primary driver of it, they had to move him around to a different vehicle. Amusingly, the cheapest vehicle to attach him to was my Tacoma.

In DROPPING a vehicle, our insurance INCREASED by $125.

    :censored: that.

Yesterday we finalized the paperwork to switch to Progressive. Our house insurance will cost about the same but the coverage is better. The car insurance coverage is about the same but will cost $2k less per year.

Old man rant.....feel free to skip

I've never understood the whole 'put my kid on our car insurance' because....

    1. You insure the vehicle, not the driver. Medical insurance does that.

    2. If my buddy borrowed my truck for a few days do I have to call insurance and add him to my policy? Nope. Then why should I add my kid?

    3. Automatically having higher rates because they're younger, wouldn't that be considered age discrimination?

    4. Its nobody's business who drives my truck; if there's an accident they better cover it anyhow...because my insurance is for my truck, not the person driving it.

    5. When my renewal comes in it lists my vehicles, not the drivers

    6. (My favorite)...insurance companies suck.

When my kid turned 16 I asked my agent (at that time, I change companies every 5 years or so) what would happen if I didnt list a 16yo driver on my policy and they caused a wreck; she said insurance would still cover it (because they're covering the vehicle), but then my premiums would go thru the roof. I was like "if my 16yo has a wreck, aren't my premiums going thru the roof regardless?"

Sorry about the rant, this is one of those topics that burns my ass. :bananadead:

    Side note:
My wife made damn sure we added my kid to our policy:anonymous:, she's no risk-taker.

    Side note part 7, chapter 1 & 3:
My buddy never said a word to his ins. company when his daughter turned 16, luckily she had no wrecks or tickets.

Apparently I came from a different side of the tracks. I bought my first car when I was 14 and got my own insurance. I've paid for everything I've ever had.

I did too, but we told my kid we would cover his expenses as long as he made straight A's and wasn't an asshole. He fulfilled half of that. :(

    I couldn't agree more.

In my career I dealt with ins co's all the time. In Canada there is an "Uninsured Motorist's Fund" that is funded by... you guessed it... us. I saw several people that had no auto insurance collect the maximum 2 million dollar payout.

Yup, hoses do fail and degrade. They allow moisture in and brake fluid is a common water absorbing fluid (unless you’re using DOT 5). Typically it’s age and abuse that does them in. I don’t know what they cost now, but I used to use the rule of 10 years tops. Considering the quality of rubber is degrading, I’d probably inspect sooner now. When bleeding inspect for swelling or deformation. They’re designed to be essentially rigid, despite the flexible nature.

I took a small road trip today, 318 miles worth. I found this Post Office in a little burg way up in central NY.

    KIMG3341.jpg

    Pretty standard right?

    Then why ...

    KIMG3338.jpg

... does it have a lighthouse attached???:confused:
Lake Ontario is about 70 miles away.
    :notsure:

This was probably a (Colonial) Beacon Oil gas station built in the 1920s - 1930s.
