Hello everyone! I am in search of a function snorkel set up and I am wondering what everyone is running. Reason is we're experiencing some pretty bad flooding up here in the North East in my area and one town in particular that i commute through had severe flooding on the main highway I use to commute. Mostly just some added peace of mind in a sticky situation. My truck is my daily and i do wheel it but i dont do any water crossings and I dont really plan to because of other possible water crossing caused issues. This would just be peace of mind if I need to wade through in a pinch. What are some good brands and how hard are the installs? (Best ways to cut fender/ seal intake for water intrusion) Any and all info is welcome, Thanks!

    I have a Dobinsons 4x4 snorkel with Sy-Klone prefilter.

It’s worked great. There are other things to think about if you want protection from water.

Diff breather relocations. I have an ARB relocation behind my rear tail light. Some people put it by the fuel inlet.

Silicone the electrics under the hood.

Cover the tiny hole in the bottom of your air box.

keep in mind there’s a fuse box by your hood release on the inside of the cab.

The key to deep water crossings is keeping your forward momentum. As soon as you slow down or get stuck. That’s when the water seeps in and things get bad.

It’s also a great air filter too. You’re pulling air from much higher away from the dust in your wheel well and with the prefilter on top of the snorkel it gets all the big particles out before it makes it to the actual air filter. I go about 2 years between air filters and it’s always fairly clean.
