Been lurking and reading lots of late and decided to join and maybe participate. Will try to listen more than speak so as not to remove all doubt about being a fool.

First Toyota Pickup was a 1987 purchased new when I graduated college. Had 3 options if I remember correctly...metallic paint, mud flaps, and dealer installed air. Great truck. 22R with a 5 speed.

Have owned FJ-40's, '80's 4runners and trucks, and several Tundras as daily drivers. I brag to my buddies that my last 3 have accumulated over 500,000 miles without having a dealer repair...just oil changes, tires and brakes.

I came into another 1987 Xtra Cab Pickup a couple years ago and have been cleaning it up and use it weekends mostly. I decided to take a big road trip like I did 36 years ago. Went 2,600 miles in a week...Iowa to Wind River Range in Wyoming, down into Colorado then home. Only did maybe 40 miles of Interstate! Short stretch in Wyoming and across Denver...otherwise all 2 lane highways.

Had a blast but had a noisy, bumpy, radio delete week to think about what I want in a truck...and now have a '23 Tacoma coming in the next few weeks. Looking forward to a few things...cruise control, radio, decent brakes, more power....and maybe one of the last non turbo V6's with manual trans.

Here is a pic from camp on the green River near Pinedale, Wyoming.

Hope to get to know some of you soon.
