Animal invasions - nuts, nests, edible wiring?

I had an F150 XLT Lariat that lived out in the yard somewhere for a few years, and the squirrels and mice moved into the air filter box, built a nest on the engine and the spare tire, but they never went after the CV Joints! Anyone living out in the woods experience this on your Tacoma?

I'll be keeping mine inside since I no longer have the F150 and will be replacing my GTI with a Tacoma shortly...

 

Unfortunately if you have a vehicle parked for any period of time where there are critters at some point they are gona move in and make a mess.

 

Mice will chew through your wiring insulation and short things out.

 

Moth balls every few months seem to help keep them out.

When they push through the throttle body and can not get out no rubber to chew through.

What a mess to clean out of the heads .

 

Mothballs will work.
I can see those ultrasonic repellents working if placed in the right area.
I use similar inground devices to keep moles out of the yard. As long as there are no barriers, i.e. fence post, foundation, tree roots. It will send sonic pulses down to a 90ft radius.

 

Fluid film with peppermint oil mixed in for undercoating, also mixing in peppermint oil with CarPro PERL for dressing/protecting everything under the hood doesn't hurt.
