How did you remove the others, just an angle grinder or something? I do like the look of the flat bar there.

There is a popped weld that lets oil out. Whole housing is being replaced.

Let someone who is rational hide them for you ... then you must beg permission to spend any money.

Yep. Cut them off, ground them flat and then sprayed them with a rattle can bedliner.

Kinda sorta maybe finished my build? 2018 Tacoma TRD-OR. 5 years in the making. My goal has always been to make a better, more comfortable, fun, and functional ride for daily commute, camping, and exploring the desert here in Nevada. You can't tell from the outside but I've put almost $15,000 of upgrades into this fella. I never wanted to have a bunch of shit hanging off of it and a lot of obvious changes.

It feels like I've built the 2024 Trail Hunter basically. Or what the OR or Pro should come with stock.

The latest update was OME medium weight 2" coil springs that helped stabilize everything and improve ride quality after adding the armor and the 265/76/16 tires I got last weekend from Discount Tire. They are the Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrain ATs. They are such a huge amazing difference from the stock Nitto Ridge Grapplers. So far they feel softer, much quieter, better handling overall and just have made a major improvement to the driving.

The list of all my upgrades is in my profile. It's a lot of internal stuff that I don't even think of anymore because it's just normal for me now, but it's been a lot of work. Someday I should do a photoshoot with all the stuff.

The only thing I might do last is upgrade speakers and a re-gear. I haven't gone up to Tahoe yet on the new tires so we'll see how it handles that road. So far it feels like it drives better with the new tires but we'll see. And now that the car is quieter, I'm thinking speakers might be nice.

    What do you guys think?

    Did two things today:

    1) changed out my Kenwood DMX957XR for a DMX958XR
    2) removed my dash power outlet in favor of a Scosche PowerVolt.

The reason for the new radio was because it’s a newer model and it supports 3A charging vs 1.5A on the 957. I’ve ordered the new Pro Max iPhone and the battery is going to be huge on it. My old phone has a pretty small battery and charges really slow.

Since I was messing with the radio, figured the PowerVolt would be a good thing to add. It gives you a new USB port that will pass CarPlay through it, and then it has prongs to wire up to power to give passengers or whoever a USB charge port. Makes it to where I don’t have to have a car charger to plug into the power outlet anymore. I didn’t like the factory USB port location so this is better, and it’s very unassuming because there is no wording or lights on it.

I couldn’t get used to the stock SR Grille. $100 and 45 minutes later, IMG_9323.jpg IMG_9325.jpg IMG_9327.jpg I like it a lot better.
