September sunsets here in Northern Michigan are stunning, but as I found very difficult to capture in a picture. From what I saw I have about a 5 minute window to get a picture before the sun drops behind the lake. Before that the suns rays are just too intense.

We're going to get there earlier tonight to get a better parking spot too.

    :yay:

I’ve spent some time in Harbor Springs and Petosky as well a few other places up north as a kid. Michigan is an amazing place in the summer.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
"Up North" Michigan is great year round, although I've had enough of the snow.

I had to play around a bit with the sunset timing when we were at the Big Bend. I did wind up with a few good ones.

Nice. Makes me want to go back. I have some nice ones from the Grand Canyon as well, but not handy. Want to go back there too!

Been looking for a reason to take a pic with my week old tacoma with the rock and roll hall of Fame in the background. I guess I found the thread!

I'm planning on going back down next spring. There is a lot to still explore.

    Pro Tips:
If you visit, you'll be happy to have decent tires and 4WD.
Try to get there early in the A.M. or around Sundown for better sun positions...
The 17 mile loop takes about 2 hours but expect it to take 3.
Do NOT pay to go on the standard tour - they blow through so fast you won't have time to take several shots.

Sand Lake, Manistee National Forest. The tourists are gone, the bugs are gone, the days are warm the lakes are warm and the nights are cool.

It can be September forever as far as I'm concerned.
