I paid to much for a 2021 TRD off road

    None Yet?
But the wife insisted my 2009 TRD off road was an embarrassment and that money wasn’t an issue so what can a guy do? That’s right, I bought a 2021 with 19k on it. I’m an old man and right off the bat I need a bed mat and I suppose mud flaps and a few other doodads. I have to get running boards right away so my 91yo mother can climb in so what's my best on line source for things such as that. What kind of shop installs such thingfor can i throw them on my self. I sorry this post is long and all over the place. I know the tunes could sure be upgraded but I don't even know where to start but i do know this forum has a lot of knowledge so I'll do some searches and pick some brains? I don't have any mudflaps and my 2009 had four of them so are they missing or did the vehicle never have them. Thanks for humoring me cause i know it'll take a week just to figure out what all the buttons and knobs do? I'll try and not wear out my welcome. TY

All of the things you mentioned are readily available via dealers, vendors here, Amazon, Rock Auto, etc. Just use the search for specific stuff, and it will point you in the right direction.

I'm sure you could find some take-offs pretty easily. My truck has none of those things, but I'm pretty sure it did when it was new. I much prefer the look without them, but I understand the running board thing with elderly family members.

For steps—look for used take offs locally. Maybe Facebook marketplace or the classifieds here. If you’re not 91, you don’t need them so a lot of people remove the dealer add ons.

    Prioritize the item you “need”.
Getting into the truck. 91 yo mother will be tough, is that what the bed mat is for? Kidding, my wife is 5 6 and she struggles to climb in with running boards. So maybe a lower step solution.
Mud flaps are inexpensive and easily installed.
    Bed mat. Just lies there.
If you decide a bed cover there are a lot of choices, I like the solid trifold that is easily installed and folded. (Mine you can stand on)
    Good luck and welcome

You may be able to find a truck accessory shop in your town. We have two that will have everything you want and do the installation. But it will cost a lot of money. You could be in and out in less than a day. Or you buy from them and do the installation yourself. Just a thought.

Welcome to TW. What City do you live in? I'm replacing my tube running boards with rock sliders and you could have mine for free if you live in Houston.

Welcome to the forum. My wife is 5’1” on a good day and she had a tough time getting into my taco so I bought side steps. I’m a young 67 so I crawl under and remove them when I’m going off-roading but otherwise they stay on.

We might be able to help you more if you tell us where you live.
Larger cities have more options for purchases of course.
A bed mat would be my first purchase and that's what I did. Just get an oem Toyota mat from a dealer and put it in yourself. I'm 70+ and did it with bad arms and legs.
Most places that sell running boards will install them just ask the price before you do it.
Just because your other Taco had mud flaps doesn't mean you need them. Or do you.
I would use the new truck for awhile before going crazy on add ons.

Well I’ll be that guy and ask, how much did you pay and how is your truck equipped?

depending on where you live it may be a great deal! Don’t beat yourself up too much, most people don’t remember how much they paid 3 or 5 years ago (well maybe not most).

Too bad someone removed your mud flaps. They come stock on the Tacoma.

Buying a set of mud flaps and some decent side bars shouldn't be an problem, as money isn't an issue. And I wouldn't recommend what @Captqc has for running boards. Trust me, nobody continuously removes these to go off roading. I believe even Wal-Mart sells running boards that won't get hung up when Off Roading.....

    Good luck, and enjoy

I never had mud flaps and like the look without them. My paint behind each wheel looks great because I never off road and rarely drive through gravel. Decide if you need them and how you want your truck to look. Get a bed mat or things will slide all over the place. I prefer the clean look of no steps or running boards. I used a one step stool to get my elderly mother in my truck. Yes I would help her get in and out but she knew she had to wait for me to get the one step stool out and help her (instead of trying to get in by herself if I was not looking). The one step stool with the passenger side grab handle worked well to get her in and out.

I had predator type steps on my tacoma when I ordered it that way, but ended up removing them after the wife nearly broke her neck when they became ice covered from a freezing rainstorm one winter. It's probably a good thing for me as the wife will rarely use my truck now. The op having a 90 year old mother, god bless him, it has to be taxing.

That's one of the first decent looking aftermarket grilles I've seen!
