Got some icon alloys and nittos for my 2018 Tacoma SR. Drove for about thirty miles with no lights, now Im getting a blinking TPMS warning and the center display says "check TPMS monitoring system" I've tried resetting the TPMS and this doesn't work, tried clearing the code and it came back on. I'm wondering does this mean my tpms sensors are bad or got dislodged? They are new and came with a package deal from custom offsets. Wondering if anybody has any experience with this and can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance.

Is this just using the reset button under the dash? If so I tried that with no luck. Or is there something else I need to do? Thanks for the reply!

"Tacoma world error" links don't work. I'm having the same issue with new wheels and tire combo.

Every TPMS sensor has a unique ID. Sensor IDs have to be manually input into the ECU. 3rd gen trucks can only store 4 sensor IDs at a time, so if you do a 5 tire rotation, you will need to re-program the ecu every time to rotate your tires, erasing one ID and adding the new one.

The easiest method is to have a tire shop use a handheld scanner tool to learn the TPMS IDs from each of your new wheels and program them into the trucks ECU. Depending on what kind of sensors your new wheels have, a shop may be able to “clone” your old set of IDs and program the new sensors to match (these would be aftermarket TPMS sensors. OEM sensors have a static ID that cannot be changed).
This is helpful if you do a winter/summer rotation with two sets of 4 wheels, because you’d never have to reprogram the ecu until a sensor needs to be replaced.

To DIY it you will need either a TPMS tool, a copy of techstream software installed on a laptop and a OBDII to usb cable or an OBDII Bluetooth dongle and a phone app like Carista.

Thanks. I guess tire shop did it as you said. Light was on yesterday for a bit. Today new sensors were working. Guess I didn't have my hat on straight. I put my stock tires back on to finish out the tread and save new for late fall. Took a bit for old sensors to read, but they did. Should be good for 2 set swaps.
