Since buying my truck I've toyed with the idea of putting a take-off/rebuilt Pro setup on my OR. I am well aware there are aftermarket-aftermarket options - I'm not interested in learning about those here (though I know probably the first response is going to be to just get 5100's). I'm interested in keeping it OEM and I do not really want to do anything more than maybe level out the front - and definitely no higher than the current Pro. Current use is day to day driving, some truck duties, and a handful of trails a year; pretty mild generally, for now at least.

What I am aware of is that there's some difference(s) with the early and late varieties; the '21+ has a ~1" taller ride height vs. '16-20, and "the valving is different." I am hoping someone here has had both and can relay if they felt they had different driving characteristics or if it's more or less just a ride height bump?

Also - for installation, I am assuming '16-20 would be a simple bolt-in strut/shock swap, and '21+ would require rear spacers (lest I develop a taste for Carolina Squat)?

17-19 have ground flat top and bottom on the coils
20-21 they made a slight valve adjustment and changed the springs to full coils without the ground top and bottom
22-23 they put a new spring on again that gives a extra 1 inch of lift over the rest of the pros

Now, you wont notice much difference between 17-19 and 20-21. Though there is a issue with the spring design in the 20-21 models. because the top of the coil is not flat, but the strut top is flat it can cause some binding and noise. This was a issue when people put the eibach lift springs in, eibach has fixed the issue on their side, but its still a issue on stock springs (you probably wont get the problem though).

22-23 are going to be a little harder to find and more expensive for no real gain.

The best option is to get the 17-19 shocks.

Though remember when looking, they should be rebuilt every 50k miles to stay working well. Rebuild costs around 6-700 for a set.

Thanks for the summary. Just to confirm, the ‘22+ use the same springs as other model(s) and gets a lift block to compliment the front springs?

I believe 22-23 uses a rear block, but im not 100% on that.
But has a longer front spring to get the lift in front

No clue when I'll get around to install, but I scraped up a MY18 Pro suspension setup that I'm going to have rebuilt locally (unless that's a bad idea and it's worth double the cost to have Fox do it?).

My real question though, is do the Pro springs have Taco-lean compensation baked in to them or should I think about finding/3D printing a little shim for the driver's side? Mine's not too bad, but, it's there...and if I am taking it all apart anyway...

It should. Put them side by side and one spring perch should be slightly higher than the other. If not just throw a 1/4” top spacer on the driver side.

There is no lean with the pro. The left side strut has the spring perch slightly higher than the right side.
