Just scored some new rear 5100s off FB for $100. Guy bought for 4R and didn't fit. 20230916_120139.jpg They'll be great when I do the 2/1 lift someday

Well I got up this morning at 6.. somehow I just finished this Redarc Liberty brake controller job at 1pm??? Ahh well I did take off the lower panel and the airbag (12V positive lead off the battery was disconnected before I started) I know I did the job right so I wont have to in a year.

Installed my Billie Bars tailgate insert. Stupid expensive but love the marine padding and deep cup holders.

Really well made. Climbed into back, so easy on the knees.

Before, after, and a strap I put in the corner to be able to easily pull the tailgate up and closed when camping.

None to speak of, just enjoying it for the moment.
Installed the driver's side A-pillar grab handle. I'm left-handed and it just seems natural to grab it and I feel like I'm righting a wrong on the part of Toyota for not including it (just like the electric tailgate lock). I did (as other have) up size the lower fastener a bit and it was an easy install. The "rivnut" style and size I used was much better, bigger and easier to install than the one provided in the kit. When I initially tried to install it, I tried using the one provided but it failed to compress correctly and was rendered unusable after the second attempt forcing me to wait for replacement ones sent free of charge by KTJO which I have no issue with by the way. I also adjusted the hole orientation prior to installing the actual handle as some have suggested, seems like I had very little trouble getting the lower bolt installed and I think it's because the nut orientation was more in line with the handle making installation more intuitive. I was able to use a bolt that is also a 10mm (M6 threads) like the upper one so I'm pleased about that. Some have said the handle impinges on the view out of the windshield but I don't have that issue. I'm 5'10" so not very tall so I think that helps because I don't have my seat to far back so I'm really happy with it. As is my Jack Russell Terrier "Finn" who loves riding shot gun in "his" truck!

I do but I am not 100% happy with my selection. Link below, I got the 15" version, should have gotten the 20". What I don't like/didn't plan for properly (my fault, the straps are really high quality, just bad choice on my part)
    1. The eyelet is bigger than I expected. You can see I have a washer underneath it to better spread the load since the screw head isn't big enough.
    2. I have to get a washer with a larger inner diameter. You can also see it sticking up a bit. Near the head of the screw the screw gets wider and doesn't fit into the inner part of washer.
    3. Length. I was hoping this would be long enough where I could loop it over my topper handle, inner piece that latches the rear window closed so it can prevent someone from opening it up at night (paranoid I know, people sleep in tents and don't worry about people opening the tent. Just feels different in a truck bed). This strap is about 2" too short.
I will likely just get a new washer and call it a day, I sort of messed up the eyelet so I can't return these. I have another way to keep the rear window latch secure.

If I did it again I would get a 20" strap that was a little narrower.

mounted a 2.5 gallon aluminum water tank, Schrader valve threaded in up top in the fill cap to pressurize the tank. Still waiting for the spray nozzle and coiled hose. Had some extra Misc. mounting brackets laying around from a utv bumper project. I used those to mount the lower part of the tank to the truck rack mounting brackets.

Re wired from a Distribution fuse block to the AuxBeam should have done it from the beginning. Also hardwired my signal booster and cleaned up some old wiring.

Does that setup require any trimming on stock suspension? The 703s might be the one for me!

These 5th Gen 4Runner lift gate pull straps might be an alternative.
You would need to bend the mounting end flat. I’m pretty sure it’s held on with a 10MM bolt so the bolt opening might also be better.
    They come in multiple colors.

No trimming... I still have stock suspension. They poke out just a bit from stock wheels on my OR. Gives me a reason to install my Rekgen mudflaps I've had for a couple months. No regrets. Tires and wheels are killer.

I really don’t like giving Craigslist my business since they’re full of puppy mills. Real scumbags preying on people to buy abused breeds and pups in horrendous conditions.
