Also, the early 2016 4x4s had 5 greaseable Zerks. Mid 2016, Toyota started using non-greasable Zerks on the rear driveshaft. Post #1 has pictures of all 5 Zerk locations.

Toyota probably got tired of people reading the T W thread titled "Check your u-joints" and then running to the dealership to complain that their u-joints had never been greased and were "bone dry", so they did away with the zerks altogether.

A little knowledge is a dangerous thing. Anybody that's ever actually changed a u-joint knows you ain't ever gonna assemble one without a hefty dollop of grease in the caps to hold the needles in place.

I've never run into any of those types before but I have greased a few of the button head ones I pictured. I've seen them mostly on really big roller bearings and the track adjusters on excavators and bulldozers etc.

Edit : and to get back on topic, my '19 only has the two zerks on the front driveshaft, none on the rear.

I have 1 replacement for my 09 up next to the CB on drive shaft. For a total of 5.

Well this is totally thread necroing but I also fell victim to the "maintenance guide for 3rd gens says grease the u-joints" So I go get a grease gun get a few cans of grease crawl under the truck and... Seal joints everywhere! On the plus side I guess I have a grease gun now if I ever need it for anything?

You can still use the grease. Lawn tractors, snow blowers or other small equipment still require these. I use the grease on the truck for the tailgate strikes and turn stops every oil change. Also, use it on the wheel hubs when swapping the wheels to keep the corrosion from seizing them.
