I want a soft top. I am extremely OCD, so I have been researching the hell out of this.

Most everything I have read seems to say Softopper 100% and Bestop sucks. However, many of these posts are older, and that makes me wonder whether these people only had experiences/opinions with the original Bestop model and not the updated one.

Does Bestop still suck? *Why* does it suck? Again, most everything I read was people saying they suck, that Softopper is so much better in quality and every other way…but did not elaborate HOW — tons of what I’d read was here on TW.

I’m at a loss on which one to go for.

My Softtopper will be 6 years old come January. It is starting to show some age. The thread on some seams is starting to fray, one of the plastic clips needed a makeshift repair and I have had to replace a grommet. Considering the cost of a fiberglass shell I would buy another Softtopper.

I too am researching soft caps. It's my understanding that softopper is owned by bestop, so they are ultimately the same company. I've only seen softoppers in real life and have gotten nothing but praise from the owners. I'd love to see a bestop out in the wild to really get a good look.
