My first car... best build ever

I started building a 1st gen Tacoma since September 2022, just thought I might share.

 

I bought the whole truck for $2000, some issues but none that were unfixable, (mostly caused by rust).

 

Pulled it into shop and got to work on frame, body mounts, etc.
Also took off the fenders to put other ones on because mine were rusted through.

 

Bondo on the hood...

 

Hood is primed and ready for paint.

What exactly did you do to the frame & body mounts?

 

I cut the body bolts out with oxyacetylene and drilled them out and replaced the body mounts. As for the frame, I am currently patching it. It technically can’t pass inspection unless done by a certified welder, but I can do it enough so the inspector’s won’t notice. I will also put an extra steel plate on the bottom for extra strength.
