Proud of him. I cant speak for the Navy as I'm Active Air Force going on 17 years now and I can say that we take care of our own. Depending on how you raised your son, he may have just spent the last 10 weeks being the most stressed he has ever been in before. I am only basing this on what I went through. Granted times have changed so that may be a bit outdated at this point. Again, I'm not Navy but if it's anything like I went through, I spent time as both the student and later as the instructor. The Armed Forces will take care of your son and give him all the tools that he needs to succeed in the classroom but the biggest thing that the student needs is to know they have the support from back home. I've had to sit in a few academic performance boards for both mine and other students and just through casual talking with the student, the majority of these young kids that were having issues academically was the perceived feeling that nobody cared about them back home. Make sure you convey to your son what's going on in your head. Just that little bit of effort will mean the world of difference to him. He just needs to know that the hardest part of his service is behind him and that it only gets easier from here on out. But I do have to ask... what's up with that 3rd photo?

Congratulations! It’s just the first step. He’ll turn around and wonder where the last 20 years went. I know I did.

Greenville was busy when I lived there in 2017. The roadwork was never ending and everything was a shit show. I spent half my weekends in Charleston so I have experience in both places.

The roadwork shit show has moved up to the Cowpens/Gaffney area. The I385/I85 interchange work finished up a few years ago. Traffic isnt so bad to me. I visit Charleston and Savannah for work regularly and traffic is way worse there, and also its pretty bad in the devils asshole(Columbia).
