I have a 2005 Prerunner with the v6 and the 6 speed manuel with 335k miles.

For a while my clutch pedal stuck when depressed and I have to raise it with my toe. However, I didn’t worry about it because it didn’t seem to be affecting driving. Monday of this week the gears seemed a little hard to shift into and they grind a little. I thought it was just because I was running late for work and not driving smoothly. Then Wednesday morning it wouldn’t engage in a gear at all. Once I got home I engaged it in the gear with the truck off, started driving and was able to shift but the gears were grinding a little when shifting and a little hard to slide into gear.

Could anyone give me some pointers what it might be? I was hoping it was something the clutch pedal assembly rather than clutch, but any help would be much appreciated!

Start with the easy stuff and work your way up to the more complicated and expensive things...

First, check and bleed the clutch fluid.

If that doesn't solve the problem, move on to troubleshooting the Master and Slave cylinders.

If those are good, it's time to look at the clutch itself.

Sounds like your fluid is worn out.

YouTube has a million videos on how to bleed a clutch.

    Start there
