Just redid the floors in my 2013 4x4 access cab (4cyl). Putting the carpet back down and notice I don’t have a grommet for this spot circled here. But in my before pics (see attached) there is no grommet there in the first place. Seems weird for there to be no grommet here…

Assembly line worker ran to take a pee most likely and no one to fill in for him.

Here's a scenario I pulled out of my ass....

The line worker notices they are getting very low on one size of plug and will run out before the other plugs. They notify management they will need more plugs in that size. Management, being management, shows up at the work station. They ask the worker all sorts of questions, like exactly how many plugs do they have and how many do they need? Are they sure they will run out of that size before the others? How many did they start with? Then management goes off to consult with other management about why they are running out. Did the supplier short them? Did the worker mistakenly double up some of the plugs?

Finally, management has more plugs delivered to the station. In the meantime the station ran out of plugs and due to a "Holy shit! We can't stop the line!" policy, 100 vehicles don't get plugs.

If, at some possible point, it's noticed that some vehicles are missing plugs, management will write a report saying maybe the worker needs more training on plug installation and making better estimates so management can be informed in sufficient time to get more plugs to the station before they run out.

For those who haven't figured it out, I do support the UAW in their current strike. Live Better, Work Union.

What about this scenario. Engineers thought maybe we should leave one out in case these guys do creek crossings and flood the interior. Permanent drain port.

Engineers never leave things out, that's the bean counter's job.

Lmao. So I’ve been searching for an hour trying to find the part number for that plug. Any ideas where to find this info?

Look at the other ones, I want to say the p/n is printed on them. See which one fits and then order a replacement.

Or measure the diameter of the hole and then order a generic grommet off of Amazon.

If you can’t find the part number online, that is.

That’s the thing - it’s a different size than all the rest. But yep if I can’t find the part number the plan is just to order a non-OEM one. Shouldn’t be a big deal

You could also search on this site for the p/n. Your frame number will be on your driver door jamb sticker.
